Shire rejoin the Reserve League
East Stirling have entered a Team into the Reserve League next Season. This will be the first time for 14 years that you can see the Shire reserves. The last we played in the Reserve League was in 1993 and was in the old Reserve League West.
Shire Coach Gordon Wylde was quoted as saying: "I will have a squad of 20 or 22 next season, and I want to keep them all fit,". "The reserve team gives me a good chance to make sure that every signed player gets a game once a week.
"And there will be plenty of opportunities for youngsters around the 17 or 18 mark, who have been doing well in the youth academy team to make the step up. I honestly think they will learn more playing against men than in a youth league."
Club Official also see it as a good way of keeping players fit and to offer Players from the Youth Academy a chance to be included in the Senior Squad.
