Shire Fans Start To Pray Again

The Shire have today announced that the Queens Park match, set for 1500 on Saturday is in doubt and the Ochilview pitch will be inspected at 1215 tomorrow.

The club have stated that there is still ice on certain areas of the plastic pitch and it is speculated that a rise in temperature is the only way that the game will have of surviving.

It is unknown if staff of Stenhousemuir FC are actively attempting to clear the pitch, but even if they are, then it is my knowledge that the game could still be called off by Central Police due to the condition of surrounding areas, which is one of the reasons the Albion Rovers re-match was called off.

Jim McInally himself is not in favour of a winter shut down but did state that a 2 week break over Christmas could be a good idea with attendances regularly dropping over this time, as peoples purse strings tighten.
