McInally Still On The Lookout For New Additions

Shire manager Jim McInally has not ruled out bringing in new faces before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

Mark Peat and John O'Neill have already been added to the promotion pushers and up to 12 players were already signed during the first part of the season. Speculatation has it that another Midfielder is high on the list of priorities with Jimmy Gibson's retirement and Davie Nicholls being more influential off the park, and having, what looks like his last game in a Shire shirt back in September.

A strong Shire reserve side faced Crossgates Primrose in a closed doors friendly during the week. Jamie Newman, Marc McKenzie, John O'Neill, Balsa Krivokapic, Derek Ure, David Thornton and two unknown trialists played there part.

McInally stated on the official website (www.eaststirlingfc.co.uk) that he already has one eye on next season and has started talks with players to join the club, although would not give any indication on who "I have started planning ahead. I have spoken to two or three already and they seem quite willing. Not one player who is here just now is under contract next season. I am here for the long haul and we have to start moving on from where we are now. I am hoping the players will show the character and come with me."
