Pitch Inspection Due

The Scottish Football League have today announced that Saturday’s game against Forfar will be subject to a 1030 pitch inspection tomorrow (Friday 15th January) as the recent weather plays havoc with the fixture card.  Although Scotland is becoming clear of ice and snow, it is feared that water is now the problem.

Forfar have 2 games in 3 days as they prepare to face St.Johnstone in the Scottish Cup on Monday night, it is thought that tie is in little doubt, but the game against East Stirlingshire, may have just come a day to soon, as the weather forecast predicts 3 days of heavy rain within the area.

There was more bad news for Shire fans as reports coming out of the club suggest that former Forfar Defender David King could require surgery on his knee.  It has been well reported that the Defender has had his fair share of injury problems since joining the club under Gordon Wylde, but each time he has come back and forced his way into Jim McInally’s plans and has become one of the clubs star men this season.

The current weather has forced the club to train in-doors which is something that McInally feels may have contributed to the players problems.  Talking to the official website, www.eaststirlingshirefc.co.uk the manager said "The fact that we are training in halls with their hard floors might be a factor but we hope that we can get him back right as quickly as possible."  “"It's a blow because Kingy is a key player for us, we will just have to wait and see how things go but, at this stage of the season we do need everyone fit and available."
