Stevenson & McGuire Join The Shire
East Stirlingshire announced the signing of creative Midfielder/Forward Jamie Stevenson on Tuesday. The ex Alloa, Real Sociedad and Morton man made a big impression on not only the club but the league, when he came on loan from January. Stevenson openly admitted to www.eaststirlingfc.co.uk that he re-joined the club because he felt there was unfinished business at the club, and due to the fact we have managed to retain most of last season’s squad we have every chance of going one better this coming season.
The 25 year old was not short of offers when he was released by Morton, but it was pleasing for Shire fans to see he will be gracing the turf of Lesser Firs Park once again next season.
Stephen McGuire has also joined the club from Airdrie United, and has already impressed the small band of supporters who attended Saturday’s closed door game against Brechin City. The youngster found himself being released by Kenny Black’s side after there relegation to Division 2, although the Striker played a part in most of the clubs League 1 games last year. McGuire (who some drunken fans may start to confuse with Marc McKenzie) also had a spell at SPL side Motherwell before joining Airdrie.
Everyone at East Stirlingshire-mad wishes both players luck for the forth coming season.
